A letter from me about the next chapter of DREAMLAB ❤️
My DREAMLAB Tribe,
I have been sitting with this email for a while because, honestly, I’m not quite sure how to put 17 years of DREAMLAB into words.
Seventeen years.
When I started DREAMLAB, I had no idea what I was building. I certainly never imagined it would become what it is today.
I was simply following this deep obsession I had with skincare, science, beauty, formulation, and helping people feel incredible in their skin. And somehow, all these years later, here we are.
A brand. A laboratory. A team. A community.
And thousands and thousands of people who have trusted me with their skin. YOU have been a part of that. And that means more to me than I can probably ever explain.
But today, I want to share something personal with you. Because DREAMLAB is entering a completely new chapter. And it’s a big one.
Over the last six years, I have been dealing with some significant health challenges. I’ve gone through treatments, procedures, testing, and more than I ever imagined I would. And despite doing everything I can, my health markers still aren’t where they need to be.
For a long time, I think my instinct was to just keep pushing. Keep working. Keep creating. Keep going.Because that’s what entrepreneurs do, right? We figure it out. We work harder. We carry more. We keep moving.
But I’ve reached a point where I know something very clearly: I don’t want to build the next 17 years of my life that way.
I want a life that feels GOOD. I want to create from a place of inspiration instead of exhaustion. I want more space. More creativity. More time. More land.More science. More dreaming. I want to build a NEW version of DREAMLAB, maybe change the name? And, most importantly, that is lighter, healthier, more manageable, and sustainable for me for the long term. Because I don't want DREAMLAB to simply survive another 17 years. I want to LOVE what it becomes.
And that brings me to Texas.
For as long as I can remember, one of my biggest personal dreams has been to move back to Texas, where I was born. Originally, I thought that dream was still a few years away. I imagined moving back to Dallas in about three years, once my daughter started college. That was the plan. And then, completely out of nowhere, something became available.
A piece of land. A building. A place that felt like it had been waiting for me. And it is EVERYTHING I have dreamed about and more. It gives me the opportunity to create something I’ve never had before:
A home. A laboratory. An office. A creative space. All surrounded by open land. A place where I can wake up, walk outside, go into my lab, formulate, create, experiment, work with my hands, and actually have the space to breathe. It’s the kind of dream that makes you stop and think… How did I get this lucky?
And I truly believe this is only the beginning. For those of you who may not know, DREAMLAB is so much more than the brand you see online. Behind the products is a MASSIVE laboratory. We manufacture for other brands. We formulate. We experiment. We develop. We create. And one of my favorite parts of having a laboratory has always been being able to play.
To take an idea that pops into my head and say, “I wonder what would happen if… That’s how so many of the fun things we’ve shared with you came to life. And that’s also where THE VAULT came from. Those weird, wonderful, experimental, limited creations that let me have a little fun as a chemist and an esthetician. Moving to Texas is going to give me even more opportunity to do that. It will allow DREAMLAB to operate differently. It will give us more options. More space. More efficiency. And ultimately, the ability to bring some of our costs down by approximately 30–40%. It will also put us in a location where we can eventually ship throughout the U.S. much faster, with the goal of getting orders to most customers within approximately two days.
But this transformation isn't happening overnight. The full vision is going to take about three years to bring completely to life. And I am SO excited to take you along for it.
In about six weeks, I’ll be making the move to Texas. I’ll live and work In Texas and California until I can’t move the move permanently in 3 years.
Our main team here in Los Angeles will continue to support DREAMLAB while I build out the new operation, and I’ll eventually be building a brand-new team in Texas as this vision grows.
There is so much I can't tell you yet. But I promise… There is so much coming. And before we turn the page completely, I want to have a little FUN. Because we have inventory to move. And I want to clear the shelves so I can make room for what’s next. So starting TODAY, you’re going to start seeing our DREAMLAB MOVING SALE.
And we’re kicking things off with something VERY special: TOP SHELF.
I’m bringing back the 15 BEST-SELLING PRODUCTS OF THE LAST 10 YEARS. Ten years of favorites. Products you’ve loved. Products you’ve asked me to bring back. And some of my own absolute favorites. And I can’t wait to share them with you. Our first TOP SHELF email is coming very soon—and we’re kicking things off with MY FAVORITE TREATMENT.
So keep your eyes on your inbox. Because this is going to be fun.
But underneath all the sales and moving boxes and new laboratories and big dreams, there is something I really want you to know. Thank you. Thank you for being here. Some of you have been with me for 17 years. SEVENTEEN. You found me when DREAMLAB was just beginning, and you stayed. Some of you found me ten years ago when I started selling online. Some of you found me last year. Some of you found me last month. And some of you may have just discovered DREAMLAB.
No matter when our paths crossed, it has been an absolute honor to serve you. It is one thing to create skincare. It is another thing entirely to have someone trust you enough to put that skincare on their face, their body, their skin, and make it part of their life. I have never taken that lightly.
Every order. Every message. Every DM. Every photo you’ve sent me.
Every time you’ve told me that something I created made you feel more confident in your skin. I carry all of that with me. And I hope you know that when you support DREAMLAB, you aren't just supporting a skincare company. You are supporting a woman who has spent 20+ years obsessing over ingredients, formulas, skin, beauty, science, and the art of creating something that makes you feel GOOD.
And now, I’m giving myself permission to build the next version of that dream differently. More intentionally. More creatively. More sustainably. And with a LOT more room to dream. I don’t know exactly what the next 17 years will look like. And for the first time in a long time, I’m actually okay with that. Because sometimes the most beautiful chapters of our lives begin when the original plan falls apart. Sometimes the dream gets bigger. Sometimes it gets quieter. Sometimes it takes you all the way back to where you started.
And sometimes you have to slow down long enough to realize that you’re allowed to build a life you actually want to live. That’s what I’m doing. I’m going home. I’m building the laboratory I’ve always dreamed of. And I’m creating the next chapter of THE/LAB from a completely different place.
And I would LOVE to have you with me for it.
So tell me…
If you could build your dream life from the ground up—without worrying about what you were “supposed” to do—what would it look like?
What would you change? What would you create? Where would you go? What would you finally give yourself permission to do? Send me a DM on Instagram. I genuinely want to know.
And if you’re in Texas… PLEASE tell me.
I’ll be moving to Weatherford, and I have a feeling this next chapter is going to be one hell of an adventure. Thank you for being part of mine. Thank you for 17 incredible years. And thank you for trusting me with your skin, your beauty, and a tiny piece of your self-care.
Here’s to the next chapter.
I hope I get to serve you for another 50 years.
With so much love,
Whitney Young
