THE MODEL PREP FOR FASHION WEEK; SKINCARE, DIET & EXERCISE

Being a model is a full-time job. It could take anywhere from 1-4 months to really get ready for FASHION WEEK. You don't want to rush the process, as there are a lot of tiny details that help to look your best on the runway or in front of the camera.

Here is a little sneak peak at what you should be doing to prep for FASHION WEEK.

ONE WEEK BEFORE GET YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP

Sleep is our bodies way of regenerating and restoring. Everything from your muscles to your skin to your mind are made over with a good night’s sleep. Models understand the importance of a full eight hours to ensure their bodies are performing at their best, their skin is healthy and glowing and under eye bags are out of sight. Preparing for the craziest week of the year with a good few nights of sleep is also the best way to counteract a mental burnout halfway through Fashion Week.

ONE MONTH BEFORE GO PLANT BASED

Stick with a plant-based diet during Fashion Week. Cut out red meat, dairy products, anything gluten and stick with as many green things as possible. Eliminate extra fats, sugars, and anything that may cause you to gain weight.

TWO MONTHS BEFORE MAKEOVER YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

In the two months leading up to Fashion Week, it’s important for models to focus on the intensive treatments that you can’t do right before the shows. Make sure you get on top of your weekly skin peels and micro-needling treatments to help your skin look its best. Don’t start any new rituals the week before. Three days before the shows, skip retinol. For the shows, create a system for maximum hydration and moisture every night because after a week of applying, removing and reapplying makeup, you’re going to need it.

THREE MONTHS BEFORE CHANGE UP YOUR WORKOUT

The key to surviving the week is to swap intensive gym sessions for things like weight training and Pilates that make your body work smarter, not harder. As a, model its better to combine shorter sessions or weights with HIIT and stints of low intensity cardio to encourage the growth of lean muscle and fat burn without taking things too far.
